But not all of them can be guaranteed to protect fruit crops and vineyards from pathogenic fungi, like Delan's fungicide. Composition and mechanism of action of the drug
Fungicide Delan is a contact drug that does not penetrate the plant's body, but remains on the surface and destroys microorganisms during interaction. After processing, the agent settles on the foliage of fruit crops, forms a moisture-resistant shell and does not allow fungal spores to get into the tissues, germinate and settle.
Release form and purpose
Fungicide Delan was developed by BASF in Germany. It is produced in the form of water-soluble granules, packaged in bags of 1 and 5 kg. Also on sale there are small bags of 5-6 g.
The chemical effectively deals with apple scab, mildew grapes, helps in the fight against many types of fungi:
- fruit rot;
- perforated spotting;
- late blight;
- rust.

Fungicide is not suitable for processing seeds and soil, it is used directly for plant shoots.

- significant duration of the protective action up to 28 days;
- convenience and ease of use;
- exclusion of the emergence of resistance, since the drug suppresses the synthesis of several enzymes in the body of the pathogen at once.
Among the disadvantages of the fungicide is only that it is intended for a limited number of plants. Its activity is manifested in grape crops and some fruit trees.
The effect of the drug is prophylactic; it is rarely used for medicinal purposes.
Preparation of working solution
Preparation rules and recommendations for using the working solution:
- Rinse the container well, dispose of the remains of other drugs.
- Dissolve 2 five-gram sachets in 8-10 liters of room temperature water and mix thoroughly.
- Start processing only in calm weather, in the absence of rain.
- 2-3 liters are enough for one tree.
- On average, the interval between procedures is 2-3 weeks, but if heavy rainfall is observed, reduce the period to 9-10 days.The total number of treatments is from 4 to 6, depending on the type of fruit crop.
Prepare the working solution only on the day of processing; it is not recommended to store the diluted product.
Instructions for use
The instructions for use of the fungicide Delan indicate that the effectiveness of the drug has been officially tested only on three crops and is guaranteed subject to all standards:

Using a spray bottle or a hand-held sprayer, the substance should be evenly applied to the stem and crown of a tree or shrub. Carry out the last processing one month before harvest.
Compatibility with other chemicals
Mixing or alternating Delan with similar preparations will help eliminate the addiction of pathogens to the fungicide.:

The chemical agent is incompatible with preparations containing sulfur, mineral oils. The period between oil treatments and Delan's application should be at least 5 days.
Protective measures
The substance in the composition of the fungicide is not poisonous and belongs to the 3rd hazard class, but it is still worth protecting the skin and mucous membranes from the chemical.
For this it is enough:
- Use a gauze bandage, goggles, and a respirator.
- Prepare the solution only outdoors.
- After the procedure, wash clothes with laundry soap to neutralize the active substance and take a shower.
- If the product penetrates the skin, rinse the affected area with running water.
- In case of ingestion of the chemical, drink plenty of water and wash out the stomach. If you feel unwell, consult a doctor.
The product is safe for the environment, as it is retained in the surface layer of the soil and does not penetrate into groundwater. The half-life in soil is 18 days in water - only 1.
Expiration date and storage
Store the fungicide in production packaging at optimal humidity out of the reach of children and pets, separately from food and medicine.
Subject to the tightness of the packaging, the shelf life is 5 years.
