Application of sunflower seed: a cheap vitamin supplement for animal and bird feed

Can you please tell me how sunflower fuse is used as an additive in feed? We bought a pasty mixture, we are planning to give it to laying hens and broilers. What can you mix with and how much to add?

application of sunflower seed It is no secret that to increase the productivity of raising farm animals and poultry, you need a balanced diet. The use of sunflower fusa is one of the most affordable ways to enrich the diet of the inhabitants of the farm. If you buy special fat supplements, this will significantly increase the costs due to their high cost. Special compound feed will also cost a lot, especially if the farm is large. At the same time, fuz is more affordable financially, while it contains no less useful substances.

What is the value of sunflower fusa

fooz in bottles

Fuzz is a secondary raw material, waste obtained after the production of unrefined sunflower oil. It is a phospholipid, oily and thick sediment. Fuze remains on the bottom and walls of the containers in which the oil is stored. When cold pressed, all vitamins are retained in it, which makes fooz a valuable vitamin supplement for animal feed. Almost all the healthy fats of the sunflower are preserved in this sediment. It also contains up to 30% protein, phosphatides, iron, sulfur, calcium and magnesium. So does it make sense to buy expensive store-bought supplements when you can buy fooz at times cheaper?

The introduction of sunflower fusse as an additive in animal and poultry feed gives a good result, namely:

  • they grow and gain weight faster;
  • get sick less often;
  • reproductive function improves.
  • increased egg production in hens;
  • the quality of the coat of rabbits is improved.

Application of sunflower fuse

fuzDespite the value of fusa as a food additive in feed, there are some difficulties with its use. This is due to the special consistency of the raw material: it is greasy and waxy and does not mix well. As a result, it is very difficult to get a homogeneous mass at the exit, because it often gets knocked down in lumps. In addition, such food cannot be stored for a long time, because fatty acids quickly become bitter.

Based on agricultural practice, the optimal consistency of feed with a fuse additive can be achieved by using mixer type mixers. At their bottom, two knives are horizontally installed. Sunflower seed is added to the crushed grain and quickly mixed at high speed (at least 1000 rpm). The recommended dose of fuse is no more than 30%, which allows you to get a crumbly mixture. If these indicators are exceeded, the mass gets knocked into lumps and quickly cakes.

To increase the shelf life of the feed, an antioxidant (0.1%) should be added during mixing.

Private farms practice their own methods of adding fuse to animal and poultry feed, for example:

  1. For feathered pets, only 15% of sunflower waste from the total mass of crushed grain is added.
  2. Some farmers add vitamins A, D or Prodevit to grain at the same time as fooz. Due to their oily consistency, vitamins mix well with oil.
  3. They also dilute fish oil in a fusa, add Tetravit (also fatty vitamins) and add it to the crushed grain mixture.

Whichever method is used, the result is always an order of magnitude higher than when feeding with one grain. Birds and animals that eat fooze-enriched feed gain weight faster and get sick less.
