Application of the herbicide Stomp or the easy way to defeat weeds
Some farmers use special chemicals to control cereals, annuals, mono- and dicotyledonous weeds. The use of the herbicide Stomp, which is known for its wide spectrum of action, is considered the most effective measure for killing weeds from the garden. To obtain the desired result, it is necessary to correctly calculate the dosage for each individual culture and the application time.
Description of herbicide Stomp
When using the herbicide Stomp, the following processes are observed:
- the poisonous solution is distributed in the upper soil layer within 2 days after treatment and remains there;
- during the germination of weeds, active agents begin to act on the tubulin protein and interfere with the synthesis of its DNA;
- the death of the seedling occurs within 3-5 days, since cell division does not occur due to lack of nutrition.
In addition, Stomp's chemical composition acts as a pesticide. Pendimethalin has a negative effect on insect pests.
As soon as dicotyledonous weeds begin to germinate, forming a hypocotyl loop of seeds, the herbicide immediately accumulates. Exposure to annual plants occurs through contact with the roots and stems of the plant. Getting on the meristems of the growth points of the root system, pendimethalin quickly combines with the protein tissue of the weed. The result of this "fusion" is the rapid death of young shoots or first shoots.
In the ground, a potent drug lasts up to 3 months. During this time, it decomposes by almost 95% and forms smaller fractions.
Stomp is recognized as one of the best herbicides in Europe because the chemical's reagents are perfectly tolerated by the plant juices and spread to all tissues. At the same time, toxic compounds do not harm the crops grown. Under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, the active components do not evaporate, and also do not dissolve in water.
Broad spectrum of protective action
It should be noted that the systemic contact agent is used for growing vegetables and cereals. In this case, only the soil is cultivated before planting. Still, there are other solutions.
As stated in the instructions, the Stomp herbicide successfully fights against such varieties of dicotyledonous:
- piculnik;
- field torus;
- field forget-me-not;
- tenacious bedstraw;
- veronica;
- bindweed highlander;
- black nightshade;
- wood lice;
- purplish purple;
- common groundwort;
- garden purslane;
- field violet.
Quinoa, bristleweed, black beetle, common broom, cheese, chicken millet and chamomile also "will not resist" against the effects of the herbicide. Cereals and dicotyledonous weeds in the phase of 1-2 full leaves also die off upon contact with pendimethalin. However, the herbicide preparation is less effective for the field and shepherd's purse, although it reduces the number of these weeds on the site.
The stomp belongs to the 3rd class of danger for humans and bees.The limitation of summer is not indicated, since insects are still sleeping when treated with the agent. Recommended distance from reservoirs is 1.5 km, and residential buildings - 15 m.
Application of Stomp herbicide for each individual crop
As already noted, treatment with a chemical composition is carried out once a season - before the start of sowing / planting. When growing parsley (root), the procedure is planned in the first 2-3 days after sowing. In the case of potatoes, pickling is carried out after hilling, but before sprouting. The soil is very carefully sprayed with a working solution, taking into account the consumption rate: 200-300 l / ha (sometimes up to 400 l / ha), indicated in the instructions for use of the Stomp herbicide.
The dosage of the concentrate is:
- 2.3-4.5 l / ha for onions (excluding forcing on feathers);
- 2.5-4.5 l / ha for root parsley;
- 3-6 l / ha for cabbage and tomato seedlings;
- 3-6 l / ha for peas, corn, carrots, sunflowers, soybeans and garlic;
- 5 l / ha for potatoes.
The maximum consumption rate of the solution is used on heavy clay, loamy soils and areas with a high humus content (3.5%), and the minimum - on light nutritious and sandy loam soils. The dosage also depends on the type of weed, its unpretentiousness and vitality.
Many are interested in how to breed a Stomp in water. According to the instructions, a concentrate is poured into a small amount of liquid (1/3 of the volume of the spray tank) at this dosage:
- 150 ml for potatoes;
- 90, 135 or 180 ml for cabbage, tomatoes, sunflowers and garlic;
- 70, 100 or 135 ml for onions and parsley.
In the process of combining the chemical and the liquid, the emulsion is thoroughly stirred using a special stirrer. Then the solution is brought to full volume (10 l) and the technique is turned on again, but only for 15 minutes.
Before spraying starts, the waiting period or the number of days before harvesting must be taken into account.:
- 25 - peas;
- 30 - potatoes;
- 35 - tomatoes;
- 40 - cabbage and garlic;
- 50 - carrots and sunflowers.
The working fluid is applied on the day of preparation. It is forbidden to store the solution.
The maximum consumption of the drug also depends on the amount of precipitation and temperature rise. In the first case, the active reagent is washed out from the soil, and in the second, it quickly evaporates. Taking into account the nearest weather forecast, the farmer should increase the dosage to the maximum or decrease it.
Technical moments of soil processing
Application of the Stomp herbicide will be even more effective if the procedure is carried out in the early or evening hours. Warm weather is considered the most suitable for the activity of the drug, so the air temperature should be within + 10 ... + 20˚С. A windless time with a minimum probability of rain is chosen. It is advisable that after pickling, the soil is regularly and abundantly moistened in a piecewise or natural way. Then the weeds will begin to sprout and the effect of the Stomp herbicide on the onion will be as effective as possible.
