Melon queen - Charjuy melon or Gulabi

Charjuy melon Gulabi or Charjuy melons are loved by everyone who tastes a slice of fragrant fruit only once. Late-ripening zardas, which include several varieties of Central Asian wallow, rightfully bear the title of "queen of melons".

Large, elongated or ovoid fruits have a smooth, slightly wrinkled or uneven surface covered with a thin mesh. The dense bark, depending on the cultivar and variety, can be green, whitish or yellow in color. The pulp is thick, dense with a wonderful sweet taste and pronounced aroma. Most of the gulabi varieties acquire all their qualities only a few days or weeks after harvesting. Thanks to this property, melons can be stored almost until spring and transported over long distances without fear of spoilage or loss of taste. Melons are unpretentious and easily tolerated storage and suspended, and folded in piles.

Like many thousands of years ago, the center of gulabi cultivation is the Chardzhuy region in Turkmenistan, but the popularity of this type of melons is such that the culture can be easily seen on melons in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and in southern Russia, for example, in the Astrakhan region. Melon growers distinguish several varieties of gulabi.

Orange walk

The variety was selected by the breeders of the Uzbek Research Institute of Plant Production. Here received popular varieties today and hybrids of this culture. The growing season lasts from 100 to 115 days. The fruits of orange ghlabi melon are egg-shaped and weigh from 4 to 5 kg. The surface of the melon is even; in some varieties, a weak division into segments is visible near the cutting. The bark is dense, orange-yellow, without signs of a pattern, but with a coarse mesh.

This subspecies of melon does not ripen on melons. Freshly cut fruits have a juicy, low sugar pulp, which changes its properties as a result of maturation.

The edible melon accumulates up to 8.5% of sugar, the pulp becomes white, juicy and very aromatic.

Walking green

Walking greenUnlike the orange one, the green variety has small wrinkles on the surface, and the mesh pattern is not so pronounced. The thick, crispy flesh of the melon is greenish under the skin, and towards the center it is white. In terms of taste, it is not inferior to the previous type of walleye.

Undamaged fruits in a special sheath can be stored until next spring.

Sary-gulyabi

Melon of Sary-gulyabiThe elongated ovoid melons of this type are easily recognizable by the continuous coarse mesh that covers the smooth surface of the rind. As it ripens, the color of the fruit changes from yellow to orange. The pulp is thick, viscous-fibrous, juicy and very sweet.

Melons Alla Hamma

Egg-shaped fruits can weigh 6–7 kg. Melons with a barely visible mesh pattern are light yellow in color. Against this background, thin paired, often intermittent stripes of a brownish-orange hue are visible. The variety stands out for its excellent taste, pleasant crunchy texture and whiteness of the pulp, which occupies almost the entire inner space of the fruit.
