Artificial backlight for flowers

Increasing daylight hours will ensure the rapid production of chlorophyll and plant fiber, which is necessary for the formation of new leaves and shoots of the plant.
In order to make good lighting for seedlings in winter, you need to use reflective surfaces, such as mirrors or foil.
Benefits of a separate greenhouse
Plants placement plays a big role in growing seedlings of flowers and cultivated plants. Seedlings of shade-loving plants are set at a great distance from the lamp. They should only be exposed to reflected daylight.
A greenhouse for seedlings at the sprout stage is best done in a separate room. This will allow you to grow more seedlings.
The backlight can also be placed on the windowsill, but in this case, the growth of seedlings will depend on three factors:
- temperature created by reflectors;
- proximity of lamps to cassettes with seedlings;
- access of sunlight to the sprouts.
In the greenhouse, you can set the seedling watering time and install water nozzles. Also, thermostats are installed in a separate room so that it is possible to regulate the temperature for different types of plants.
If you grow seedlings on a windowsill during the heating season, the central heating radiators will greatly heat the soil in the cassettes and dry out the air around the plants. The seedlings will be weak and will stretch strongly. Therefore, it is better to grow it in a separate room, creating comfortable conditions.
Using diode lighting
In order to prevent the seedlings from stretching, use blue and red diode strips. The ratio of blue and red diodes for seedlings at the germination stage should be 2: 1, and at the stage of active growth - 1: 2.
Green LEDs can also be used during the active growth stage. Their light is essential for good root formation.
Using artificial lighting to grow good seedlings is not enough. For its growth, sunlight is required. It provides plants with the full spectrum of light waves.
In order for it to fall on seedlings during the day, make a polycarbonate greenhouse. If this is not possible, then the room adapted for a greenhouse should have large windows.
