It is best to start arranging flower beds in the fall or at least at the end of summer. So it will be possible to partially plant it already this season. In the fall, you can plant bulbs and seedlings of perennial flowers, and next spring, add to the composition by sowing annuals.

It is better to place both flower gardens and flower beds on the light side of the site so that the plants have enough sunlight. Tall flowers should grow in the background, while shorter ones should be closer to the edge, in the foreground. All crops from the same flower bed should have the same requirements for light, moisture and soil. The best option is to plant flowers with different flowering periods, as well as perennials and annuals. Then flowering will be continuous, from spring to late autumn.

But aggressors such as periwinkle and those that rapidly reproduce by self-seeding like aquilegia in common flower beds should be avoided. It is better to plant them "apart" so as not to oppress the neighbors.

How to make a flower bed: simple and beautiful

Any material for a flower bed is suitable. Plastic bottles, old tires, scraps of metal profiles, pipes or boards ... The strongest and most durable flower beds are obtained if they are fenced with stones and bricks. However, simpler models also look very beautiful, moreover, they do not require special costs and efforts.

Even a novice and inexperienced gardener can create these flower beds, using items that are always available on the farm:

1. Plastic bottles... Having filled them with sand and dug in along the contour, it is easy to give the flower bed any shape. And you can emphasize and highlight it by coloring the bottles.
2. Tires. The easiest option is to paint the tire, lay it on the ground and cover it with nutritious soil. It will be more interesting to look at a multi-tiered flower bed of tires, laid in several "floors".
3. Old things. A leaky bathtub or bucket, leaky boots, an ancient chest of drawers and even a broken bicycle, stroller or car - you can plant flowers in everything. A huge advantage of such flower beds is that they do not need any additional fencing and border.
4. Logs and stumps.Depressions are made in them, covered with foil, and a little gravel is poured, and on top - fertile soil.
5. Stones. Large blocks are simply laid out around the perimeter, giving the desired shape to the flower bed. Small stones can be "planted" on a cement mortar to be more reliable.
