An experienced gardener knows - you won't get a good harvest on poor land. All garden crops, be they parsley or potatoes, need food. Without it, plants develop poorly, what can we say about fruiting. So hardworking summer residents try to prepare the beds in time, and especially in the spring, because this is the most important time. Their further development depends on how much nutrients the plants receive at the beginning of the growing season. To replenish the nutrient reserves in the soil, it is important to know what fertilizer is needed in the spring for the garden. What fertilizers are needed in the spring for the garden?
Crop nutrition should be comprehensive. This can be achieved by applying the following fertilizers to the site before or during planting:
- organic;
- mineral.
Organics for the garden - a pledge of loose and nutritious soil
One of the benefits of organic fertilizers is the ability to improve soil structure. Organic matter not only saturates the beds with such an important element as nitrogen. It further increases the amount of humus on the site. The earth itself after the introduction of organic matter becomes looser. This means that it will be easier for crops to grow and "get" food. In addition, if you have a subsidiary farm, this is the cheapest way, because you don't need to buy anything.
Organic fertilizers include:
- cattle manure;
- bird droppings;
- wood ash;
- eggshell.
Fresh manure and droppings cannot be brought into the garden. On their basis, humus, compost or liquid fertilizers can be made. It is also permissible to fertilize the beds with dried manure.
Mineral fertilizers for the garden
For growth and fruiting, garden crops need nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. You can provide them with these elements by introducing special preparations on the site in the spring, namely:
- urea, saltpeter (for nitrogen replenishment);
- potassium chloride;
- superphosphate, phosphate rock (for feeding with phosphorus).
When using mineral fertilizers, it is important to follow the instructions for their application and proportions. An excess of "chemistry" will ruin everything in the beds.
Complex mineral fertilizers - an excellent solution for the garden
Separately, it is worth mentioning the preparations that contain several trace elements. They may also contain other nutrients that plants need. It is very convenient, because you do not need to do several dressings.
Mineral complexes work well:
- Nitroammofoska (potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, sulfur). Apply dry before planting on moist soil.
- Nitrophoska (potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen). The granules are added to the wells at planting or scattered over the garden bed. You can use a solution.
- Potassium nitrate (potassium, nitrogen). The prepared solution is poured over vegetables. Dry granules are poured under the bushes, after watering them.
