Bird droppings, excrement of cows, horses, pigs, sheep - all of this contains many trace elements that increase soil fertility. Each of the components is good in its own way and is important as a fertilizer. However, there are some differences between them, and above all, this concerns the application rates.
Which manure is better: what affects the choice of organic matter
Any manure is suitable for use as fertilizer, whether it be direct application to the soil, composting or feeding crops during the growing season. However, before applying it, manure must go through the necessary stage of preparation and processing. How to do this depends on what kind of manure is available. To get the best effect, you need to know its properties.
Bird droppings
It is the richest and contains the most nutrients. In addition, it has the fastest decomposition rate, so the plants are quickly fed. Perhaps the only drawback bird droppings - its small amount. At home, poultry farms are usually not kept, and it is difficult to collect a lot of waste. For this reason, it is more expedient to use bird droppings not for fertilizing the soil, but directly for plants.
Cow and horse manure
In terms of the amount of trace elements, both animal waste products are approximately the same. But horse manure decomposes faster. Accordingly, the fastest possible effect of such feeding will be noticeable precisely when using horse manure. Microelements will be transferred to the soil and will become available to plants this season.

Sheep, goat and rabbit manure

Pig manure

In principle, fresh manure has several times less nutrients than rotted manure. In most cases, it is even harmful to plants, therefore, before use, the manure must "mature", infuse, and plant residues must rot. It is advisable to increase the number of beneficial bacteria in organic matter by introducing additional dietary supplements. It would be nice to punch.
