The process itself and the conditions of care are the same for them, the only difference may be in the timing of sowing. As you know, seedlings of early cabbage need at least a month to get stronger. In later varieties, this period is longer and can reach up to 60 days. To determine the sowing date, you also need to take into account the total time it takes to reach full maturity. Some species take 120 days, while others need all 200 days. Do not forget about the time during which the seeds sprout and the seedlings take root after transplantation.

On average, cabbage has the following development cycle:

1. Sowing and germination - 7 days.
2. The seedling period is from 45 to 60 days.
3. Rooting and adaptation after transplanting into open ground - 7 days.
4. Formation and maturation of heads of cabbage - from 50 to 130 days.

Thus, in order to find out the exact date of sowing, the above number of days should be subtracted from the estimated date of harvest. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the varietal characteristics.

Climate is also important. In regions with early spring and long summer, the sowing of seeds begins in early April. In May, the grown seedlings can already be dived into the beds. Short summers and early autumn can keep heads of cabbage ripe. In this case, the crops must be shifted to an earlier time - to mid-March.
