Potato mince for stuffed cabbage

We begin to prepare our unusual minced meat:

  1. We grate raw peeled potatoes, like on potato zrazy.
  2. There are also three one carrot.
  3. Salt and pepper to taste, mix well and let stand for 15 minutes.
  4. Fry the onions separately in a frying pan.
  5. Pour grated potatoes to the onion.
  6. Fry everything together, stirring constantly. All the juice should evaporate from the potatoes, and it will become thick and slightly sticky.

To speed up the cooking process of stuffed cabbage, the potatoes can be boiled first and then grated. Then you no longer need to fry.

Cabbage rolls with potatoes: cooking step by step

Let the minced meat cool a little, but for now, cook the cabbage. Cut out the middle in the head. Pour water into a deep saucepan, bring to a boil and lower it into it cabbage... We tighten the fire and simmer the head of cabbage for about 10 minutes. The leaves will begin to separate in the process, you can take them out one by one as soon as they become a little soft. It is important not to overcook, otherwise the cabbage will tear when sculpting.

We start stuffing cabbage rolls. We put a little minced meat in the center of the leaf, roll it up. We hide the edges of the roll, pushing it in with your finger. You can apply your "sculpting technology", it's not important. The main thing is that the stuffed cabbage rolls do not fall apart.

At the bottom of a deep saucepan, spread a layer of cabbage leaf scraps. So our darlings will not burn. And already from above we arrange the rolls.

There are two ways to cook potato cabbage rolls:

  • bay just with water (1.5 hours);
  • in sour cream and tomato sauce.

Pour cabbage rolls only with boiling water so that they do not turn black.

Put the finished stuffed cabbage rolls on a plate and pour with a separate onion fry. If they are stewed in sauce, then nothing can be added at all.
