Propagation of the majestic adenium by cuttings

propagation of adenium by cuttings In order for the adenium to have a lush crown, the plant should be cut off. After such a procedure, cute cuttings remain, which are very sorry to throw away. Therefore, many housewives plant them in pots, creating a real greenhouse at home. When the flowerpots bloom, it is impossible to take your eyes off this sight.

Two days before pruning, the flower is watered abundantly. The trunk and branches should be well saturated with moisture, because they will stand without water for the next week.

Planting soil - a reliable foundation

As a planting material, either universal soil or for cacti is taken. The purchased mixture is supplemented with other leavening agents:

  • small expanded clay;
  • vermiculite;
  • river sand;
  • crushed charcoal;
  • perlite.

The soil substrate should not be damp, otherwise the roots will begin to rot. However, it should be moistened with a little liquid. If the soil has a loose structure and does not form lumps when compressed, then it is suitable for planting adenium. In this case, the florist will need a supply of some materials:

  • cotton swabs and discs;
  • alcohol;
  • sharp knife or blade;
  • charcoal for powder;
  • two cups.

The preparatory work at this stage ends. Now they move on to the main processes: pruning and transplanting.

Reproduction in two counts

To begin with, it is worth determining what form of the mother plant the hostess wants to see as a result. Then, using a knife (sterilized), cut off the crown at the level of the lateral shoots. The resulting wounds are treated with an antiseptic and sprinkled with wood ash. Also, the leaves located at the bottom of the stem (10 cm) are cut. The cuttings are left for 30 minutes to dry. During this time, the containers are filled with planting material:

  • make a drainage layer;
  • pour out the soil mixture;
  • shake the dishes a little so that the soil is evenly distributed in it.

Florists recommend making two plates with the same numbers. One is stuck in a pot with a seedling, and the other with a mother flower. Subsequently, it will be easier to observe the flowering periods of the plants.

The stem is deeply immersed in the ground. A mound is poured on top and the earth is compacted. Cuttings adenium leave for 5-6 days without watering. Then they gradually begin to moisten the soil. Place the pots in a lighted and warm place. After a while, the rooted shoots are transplanted into large containers.
