Palm Garden or Bonsai Art - What Is It?

bonsai There are real fanatics among vegetation lovers who seek to turn their home into a real forest. For such craftsmen, even the limited space of the house does not matter, since bonsai helps to make their dream come true.

What is bonsai?

Interesting and exciting art came to us from China and Japan. It was there that almost two thousand years ago gardeners began to grow dwarf trees. This technique allows you to create a real (albeit in a reduced copy) garden in a small space.

In Japanese, the word "bonsai" means not just a bonsai, but the culture of its cultivation - in a small pot, on a tray or on a piece of rock.

To create a classic bonsai, most often used pine or other long-lived hardwood species. The seedling grows until it has a good branched crown and a thick trunk. Of course, this does not happen in one or two years. And all this time, the master must work hard on the formation of bonsai in order to get a real work of art - a miniature copy of a tree.

Where does bonsai begin?

Before you start growing bonsai, you need to create an image and draw a sketch of the future tree. It is advisable to immediately think about what shape it will be, in order to then form the crown according to the plan.

Further actions are as follows:

  1. To pick up the necessary sprout in nature for the future tree.
  2. Cut off its root system.
  3. Place in a flat bowl.

For bonsai, it is necessary to select only the strongest and absolutely healthy sprouts, since not everyone will take root at home.

What to do with the sprout after engraftment?

When the young sprout takes root and continues to grow, the tops of the branches and leaves should be removed from it. This should be done until he resigns himself to his fate and begins to release small leaves (or needles), more suitable in size for dwarf trees.

At the same time, the young trunk must be wrapped with a thin wire so that it does not even think of reaching up. The branches are also pruned and guided downward or parallel to the soil using the same wire. This is how the future bonsai is shaped. Every year, the work on shaping continues in the same spirit and over time, a real, but small tree is obtained.
