In regions with a cold climate, growing thermophilic crops such as grapes is very problematic. But the Taezhny grape variety not only manages to ripen during the short summer, but also tolerates wintering well. And although he will not surprise with large clusters and berries, his high immunity, paired with endurance and unpretentiousness, puts him in a leading position. For the northern regions of Russia, this variety is the best choice.

Taiga grape variety - description and features

The vines are strong in vigor. During the season, the vine manages to stretch up to 6 m in length, and in a couple of years the shrub is able to wrap around the whole wall of the house and get to its roof. Cuttings of the Taiga grapes are rooted almost 100%, so there will be no problems with its reproduction.

The variety is highly resistant to crop diseases. Only at a young age do young bushes have a risk of "catching" mildew. Adult plants hardly get sick. The frost resistance of Taezhnoye is also high - the vine can withstand minus 32 ° C without loss and without shelter. In areas where the temperature drops even lower, the bushes are sheltered.

Fruiting and taste

The Taezhny grape belongs to the early species - no more than 95 days pass from bud break to technical ripeness. The bush will give its first harvest in the fourth year of life. The yield is maximized after 7 years of cultivation - up to 100 kg can be obtained from one bush.

The variety has only female flowers and needs pollinator planting.

The bunches of the Taiga grapes are quite small, weighing on average up to 200 g. They have a conical shape and a loose structure. The grapes themselves are round and also small, up to a maximum of 2 cm in diameter and weighing 3 g. The berries are colored dark blue, taste pleasant, with a high sugar content (20%), but at the same time with a slight acidity. The grapes ripen at the end of August, but the bunches can remain on the vine for almost 2 months and do not crumble. The variety is considered a table variety, but it is suitable both for fresh consumption and for making wine, juice, jam.

Given their vigorous growth, grape bushes are subject to mandatory rationing. No more than 3 bunches are left on each vine, otherwise they will be very small, the rest cut off.
