The timing of planting zucchini in the beds
Zucchini are plants from the pumpkin family. In the twentieth century, during the period of the greatest development of selection, more than 100 new varieties of this crop were bred. These varieties are cold-resistant and resistant to fungal diseases. Soil preparation
Before planting, it is necessary to prepare a fertile mixture for growing pumpkin crops. To prepare a place for planting, it is necessary to add ¾ buckets of vermicompost, half a bucket of coarse river sand and ¾ buckets of sour peat to the soil. This fertile mixture is distributed over the entire area of the garden.
Pumpkin crops, and especially zucchini, respond well to organic fertilizing, therefore, rotted cow dung must be applied directly to the seed planting site.
If you fertilize the garden mineral fertilizers, observe clear norms. Zucchini assimilate mineral fertilizers well, therefore, when overfeeding them, nitrates accumulate in the fruits.
Watering the garden and planting seeds
In order to determine the germination of seeds, they must be germinated. For germination, take a damp cloth or paper and leave the zucchini seeds in it for three days. After three days, the zucchini seeds will hatch. Before planting germinated seeds, holes are made 3-3.5 cm deep in the garden bed. This depth is enough for the seed to be warm, and at the same time, the sprout has enough strength to break through the soil layer.
For bush marrow varieties, the planting density is 5 plants for every 10 m2 garden area. Bush marrow varieties are compact. Planting holes are dug in a checkerboard pattern. One germinated seed is planted in each hole.
No need to deepen the seeds into the ground. They are laid out on the side of the shell, in no way deepening the delicate root of the seed. Then the sprouted seed is sprinkled with sour peat.
In order to start the growth process of the zucchini, the garden bed is carefully watered from a watering can. It is necessary to moisten the soil a little, so the water is poured in a thin stream.
