Advise what to plant along the fence in the country, photos of plants, if possible. On the one hand, I have an old neighbor's fence, elderly people live there, they have been repairing it for a long time. I understand everything, of course, but I don't really want to admire this view either. I would like something that would cover this decrepit and unsightly structure. On the other hand, the neighbors are young, they bought a house a couple of years ago, but they have already installed a new fence. Only it is solid, although it is colored. I decided that I needed to mask it with flowers.

Having finished landscaping flower beds and front gardens, we often face the question of how to decorate the fence that separates us from our neighbors. The reasons can be different, from an ugly fence, to a simple desire to retire or make your yard cozy. Depending on this, you need to choose what to plant along the fence in the country (photo of crops will be further in the article). And do not forget to consider the size of your yard from the inside. On the spacious adjoining territory, you can even arrange trees, which is important if you do not have your own garden. And for more modest sites, different types of shrubs and flowers, both tall and compact, are suitable.

What to plant along the fence in the country - photos and types of trees

In fact, the choice of trees is not very large, because it is limited by two important points. Firstly, trees should not have a very large root system and crown, so as not to break the fence over time. And secondly, the fence will create a shadow, and not all cultures are able to grow in it.

From trees that can easily withstand a possible lack of sun, you can plant along the fence:

• cherries, best compact varieties;
• peaches;
• columnar apple trees;
• low conifers;
• willow.

There must be a free distance of at least 3 m from the tree to the fence so that it does not damage it.

What shrubs can be planted near the fence

If the fence is made of mesh, spreading perennial shrubs will help to disguise it and make it visually a single whole. These can be both berries and ornamental plants, for example:

• currant;
• raspberries;
• blackberry;
• viburnum;
• barberry.

Do not forget to fence off berry crops (blackberries and raspberries) to prevent them from spreading outside the designated area. Also, cut and water regularly for beauty and harvest.

The choice of colors is huge. Climbing species, such as climbing roses, you can plant instead of creepers and guide their lashes along the fence. And rather tall and dense hydrangea bushes will close any fence, and they will also bloom. Gladioli and roses look beautiful along the path. And dwarf chrysanthemums and stonecrop will create a living border.
