Tanrek is a systemic contact-intestinal insecticide, known among gardeners for its high efficiency, versatility and economical consumption. Instructions for the use of the drug Tanrek recommends using this product to protect potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetable, ornamental, floral plants from a wide range of pests.
Composition and release form of the drug
Tanrek is marketed as a water-soluble concentrate for preparing a liquid solution.
For ease of use, the insecticide is produced in various packages and volumes:
- ampoules 1.5 ml;
- bottles of 10 and 50 ml;
- canisters 1 l.
The first two forms of release are intended for the processing of vegetable gardens and personal backyard plots, large cans are convenient to use on large agricultural fields.

The principle of the drug
The instructions for use of the drug Tanrek indicate that it belongs to insecticidal agents for intestinal contact and a high degree of activity. It is used for solution preparation and spraying of vegetable, ornamental, cereal and flower crops.
After spraying, imidacloprid penetrates through the cells of the plant and spreads with the cell sap to its leaves, stems and root system. The active substance of Tanrec enters the insect's body - both when eating the processed plant, and simply by touching it.
Tanrek blocks the transmission of nerve impulses and inhibits the central nervous system, causing paralysis of pests. Within 24 hours after the treatment of plants, insects die.

- Tanrek is effective against both adult insects and larvae;
- the insecticide is resistant to direct sunlight and atmospheric precipitation;

The insecticide consumption rate depends on the type of cultivated crop:
- From Colorado beetles on potato bushes. 1 ml of the preparation per bucket of water, at least 5 liters of working fluid is required per 100 m². Spraying is carried out once throughout the season, 21 days before harvest.
- Fight against aphids and whitefly on cucumbers and tomatoes. For the solution, 5 ml of Tanrek are used per bucket of water; for processing 100 m², 20-30 liters of solution are needed.
- From aphids on currant bushes, dilute 1 ml in a bucket of water. The liquid consumption for each bush is from 500 ml to 1.5 liters.
- For aphids and apple beetle on an apple tree - 3 ml of insecticide per 10 liters of water. For spraying each tree, 3-5 liters of solution are prepared.
- Cicadas, thrips, whiteflies and aphids on flowering and ornamental plants. To prepare the solution, a proportion of 5 ml of the drug is used per bucket of water. The plantings are processed at the rate of 9-11 liters of mortar per 100 m².
For processing indoor flowers, a solution is used prepared from 0.5-1 ml of the drug per 1 liter of pure water.
To prepare a working solution, the required dose of Tanrek insecticide should be dissolved in a small amount of liquid, then add clean water to the required volume and mix thoroughly so that the insecticide particles are completely dissolved.
Plants are best treated with insecticide in the early morning or after sunset, in dry, warm and calm weather. To prevent insect resistance from developing, Tanrek can be alternated with other insecticidal agents.
Rules for working with insecticide
Tanrek belongs to insecticides of the 3rd hazard class, that is, moderately toxic to humans and warm-blooded animals. When working with the drug, it is necessary to observe safety measures and be sure to use personal protective equipment.
Waiting period before harvest:
- potatoes, wheat, pumpkin - up to 23 days;
- salads and leafy greens, cucumbers and tomatoes in greenhouses - up to 4 days;
- decorative and floral plants - up to 7 days.
After treatment with Tanrek, manual and mechanized work in conditions greenhouses allowed no earlier than 24 hours, on open beds - only after 3-4 days.
