In general, there is nothing particularly complicated in such a craft, and even a schoolboy can do it. And to get all the necessary items, you don't have to go to the store. Surely you have small figures of snowmen, Santa Claus, a Christmas tree or just any other toy. Its size depends on the size of the can. The larger the jar, the larger the toy will fit in it. So she will serve as the main character of our snow globe, and making the falling snow is a matter of a couple of minutes.

So, to make a snow globe, in addition to a toy, we need:

1. Container with a screw cap. Take only glass jars, having previously well cleaned them of stickers and washed them. Plastic containers are not as transparent. It is better that the jar is even, without strongly convex patterns and edges, so that the drawing does not refract.
2. Water. Necessarily cleaned, without impurities. The jar must be filled with liquid for the snow to swirl.
3. Glycerol. Another required element - without it, the snowflakes will quickly settle. Note that the ideal ratio of glycerin to water to make the snow roll smoothly is 1: 5. The more glycerin you add, the slower the snowflakes spin.
4. Snow. You can take artificial snow, but in general it is also easy to make at home. Cut glitter, thin plastic or foil very finely.

Instead of glycerin, you can dilute the water with plain sunflower oil (refined), sweet syrup, or petroleum jelly.

How to make a snow globe

When you have decided what will be in the center of the composition, you can start the craft. Glue the selected toy to the inside of the lid: a Christmas tree, snowman or whatever you found.

Fill a jar with water, add glycerin, snow and glitter. Now all that remains is to assemble the ball, but before screwing on the lid, coat it with glue. Then it will close hermetically, which eliminates the risk of leakage. That's the whole secret of the DIY snow globe. If you want, you can decorate the top of the lid to mask it. Then your craft will be indistinguishable from the store one.
