Preparation of materials
To make a pair of unusual toys, you will need the seeds themselves, as well as:
- foam ball;
- satin ribbon for hanging (thin);
- glue gun;
- PVA glue;
- dry sequins;
- hair spray;
- cardboard;
- bead.
It is better to use large and thin-skinned seeds - they are easier to attach. This coating will adhere better and will not fall off.
Christmas toys from pumpkin seeds: step by step production
Today we will make two simple and simple models - a ball and a flower. Indeed, it's much easier, but you will see that they will look no worse than store decorations on the tree. Bulky, shiny, original - in general, just a miracle.
First, we will practice placing the seeds on a simpler model - a flower, and then we will make a ball.
Seed flower
To make a flower from thick paper or cardboard, cut out 2 circles with a diameter of 6.5 cm.Now we start decorating:
- We spread and glue along the edge of the circle sunflower seeds.
- Fill the second circle inside and so on to the center of the cut.
- Insert a bead into the middle.
- Glue a ribbon loop on the back.
- We make the second circle.
- We glue both parts.
- We coat with PVA glue.
- Sprinkle with sparkles.
- Spray the toy with hairspray.
Done!
Seed ball
Such a toy, thanks to the layer-by-layer coating of seeds, is somewhat reminiscent of a cone. It is done as follows:
- We glue a piece of ribbon onto the foam ball, forming a loop - the toy will be suspended from it.
- We make a dent on the ball on the opposite side of the loop. We put in and glue the first seed there.
- Now we fasten the rest, laying them out in a circle in the form of a flower.
- We glue the remaining space by placing the seeds between the previous ones.
- We coat the ball with PVA glue.
- Pour glitter onto the wet glue. Color - whatever you want.
- Let it dry.
- Spray the toy generously with hairspray.
To leave as little free space as possible and to make the "pumpkin cover" look more beautiful, lay out the seeds with a rounded end to the previous row.
Christmas decorations from pumpkin seeds are ready. We put them in a box for a little while to solemnly hang them on the main tree of the Christmas holidays at the end of December.
