Garden pots made of cement and fabric - a versatile flowerpot for any plant with your own hands

garden planter made of cement and fabric Love petunias, but no extra flowerpots? Then make an unusual garden planter out of cement and fabric. Firstly, you do not need to buy anything, because any housewife can find an old sheet or curtain, and some cement can be taken from her husband's construction supplies. And secondly, such an original pot will last at least several seasons, wintering right in the garden. Agree, this means a lot, because often you have to bring in flowerpots and pots for the winter without helpers. Otherwise, in the spring, it will simply remain to settle new flowers in it - and the flower pots will again delight the eye. So how do you make such beauty?

We prepare the necessary materials

For garden crafts we need:

  • a container that will serve as the basis of the pots (old bucket, plastic canister - any volume of your choice);
  • a piece of fabric (any, the main thing is that it should be enough to completely cover the base and so that the edges hang down);
  • cement;
  • some water for the solution;
  • alkyd enamel in a spray can of any color you like.

If you use burlap or thick fabric, the planter will be more durable. And for beautiful folds, you need to take a rectangular cut.

Garden pots made of cement and fabric: instructions for making

First of all, if you have a plastic canister as a basis, cut off the top of it and squeeze it a little with your hands. It is necessary that it cease to be so square and acquire a semblance of a hexagon. If you use a bucket, you don't need to do anything else.

Now we turn the container upside down, set it on a stool and proceed:

  1. We make a cement mortar. It should have a liquid consistency, like sour cream.
  2. We lower the fabric into it so that it is completely saturated.
  3. Squeeze out the excess a little.
  4. We cover the bucket or canister. The ends of the fabric should hang down nicely. We spread it with our hands, forming beautiful folds.
  5. We coat the bottom and sides with cement.

Now you need the workpiece to dry completely. At the same time, it should not dry in the sun, otherwise the cement will crack. When the cement hardens, we proceed to finishing.

To make the pots last longer, you can add sand to the cement in a 2: 1 ratio and, after drying, apply a second layer with a brush.

To give the planter a beautiful look, paint it with spray paint. That's all - the cement and fabric garden planter is ready. It remains only to plant inside (in a bucket) petunias or any other flowers.
