To get a good harvest of strawberries, it is better to grow them in greenhouses, although in summer, in good weather, the harvest will delight you in the open air.
And of course, which becomes clear already from the name of the technology, you need to prepare bags for seedlings, as well as the seedlings themselves and the soil.

Greenhouse... If you want to get a really good harvest of strawberries, then it should be placed in the greenhouse. For the hot season, it will be enough to select the most ordinary summer greenhouse with good ventilation. And if you want to get a harvest all year round, then you need to use capital greenhouses with forced heating. To grow strawberries in a greenhouse in bags, it is necessary to additionally equip the greenhouse with racks and supports with bag fasteners.
Bags. You can buy ready-made bags for growing strawberries, which are sold in a large assortment in specialized stores for summer cottages or vegetable gardens. Or you can make them yourself. To do this, you need to take large bags, you can make flour or sugar, made of nylon, and cut holes for seedlings in them yourself. You can also grow strawberries in plastic bags, only then they must be strong enough. For the rational use of the area, the bags should be high and small in diameter, then more seedlings can be placed on them.- The soil. Strawberries prefer slightly acidic or neutral soil. The soil is ideal for strawberries if you mix peat and perlite. But such a composition is quite expensive, so it is mainly used only for single bushes. With large plantations of strawberries, it will be more profitable to prepare the substrate yourself. This will require sod land, river sand, fine sawdust and humus.
- Saplings. You can take seedlings from your own, old bushes, but only if you are completely satisfied with their taste and yield. Otherwise, it is better to purchase new seedlings in a specialized store. It is desirable that the variety is self-pollinating, and the seedlings have a good root system.
Planting strawberries in bags
We take pre-prepared bags, fill them to the top with a special substrate.But unforgettable before that, to the bottom, pour expanded clay. This is necessary to ensure good drainage, as strawberries do not like excess moisture. Further, in the bags, on four sides, we make cuts, placing them in a checkerboard pattern. We cut vertically, the length of the slot is approximately 8 cm, and the distance between the slots should be 20-25 cm.
We plant one strawberry bush in the holes. You can also place several bushes on the upper, open part of the bag. We place bags with seedlings in certain places: on the floor, on special racks, or we hang them on hooks. No more than three bags can be placed on one square meter. This completes the planting, then you just need to water, ventilate and wait for the harvest.
Watering system for strawberries in bags
For growing strawberries in bags, it is better to use irrigation technology drip... Such a system will make your work easier, and will also be most useful for strawberries that do not like a lot of moisture. The drip irrigation system looks like a pipeline that supplies water. From it to all the bags, tubes are supplied, at the ends of which droppers are installed. To make such a system at home, an ordinary hospital dropper is suitable.
The pipeline itself is attached over the rows of bags. Their number depends on the height of the bag and can vary from two to four pieces. One is installed at the very top, and the rest are located at a distance of half a meter down to the end. The volume of water supplied should be such that about 2 liters of water per day per bag (30 l). Fertilizers and other top dressing can also be added to the water.
Strawberries on the table all year round
This method of growing strawberries is able to organize the strawberry harvest all year round. In the summer season, strawberries will grow in the open field, on the balcony, and even on the window. But the rest of the time you need to make sure that the strawberries receive enough heat and Sveta... For this, greenhouses with heating are used. But the seedlings must also be prepared in advance so that they are hardened and available in stock. It is needed so that you can replace the old one every time after harvesting.
Creating spare bushes, young bushes are placed in a special microclimate, where they are preserved, but do not develop.
Such storage is organized in an ordinary cellar or basement, as well as in the refrigerator. The main thing is that the temperature is always 0 + 2 ° С, and the humidity is around 90%. For such storage of seedlings, it is better to place them in plastic bags.
