Preparation of compound feed for cattle

feeding cows For the growth and increase in milk production of cattle, it is necessary to give dairy cows a balanced feed. Feed for cattle, in contrast to compound feed for poultry, consists of a small amount of grain. The grain mixture is based on barley. You can also use ground corn as a base. The following components are added to the compound feed:

  • sunflower cake or meal;
  • wheat bran;
  • "Tricalcium phosphate".

The drug "Tricalcium phosphate" contributes to the normal development of the skeleton in cattle. The grain mixture must be ground in a grain crusher using a 3x3 mm metal mesh. This fraction of compound feed is convenient for consumption by cattle.

Feed proportions for adults

For adults, more barley and wheat must be added to the compound feed in a one-to-one ratio. The increased proportion of grain has a beneficial effect on the development of the abdominal organs of cattle. Reducing the proportion of sunflower meal will increase the milk yield of the cow, but reduce the muscle gain. The share of the drug "Tricalcium phosphate" for adults is 0.6% of the total feed. For 20 kg of grain mixture, add 120 g of the preparation.

Calf feed proportions

For calves more barley is added to the compound feed. Barley is highly digestible and therefore helps to stretch the calf's stomach. Calves with distended stomachs perfectly digest any feed. If the stomach of the animal is not stretched, then the calf can only eat grass and hay.

Some animals may refuse to eat wheat bran and barley stalks. In this case, they need to be ground well and added to the feed in the form of crumbs.

An increased amount of sunflower meal is added to the calf feed for a quick set of muscle mass. It is possible to transfer calves to adult proportions of compound feed from six months of age. The share of the drug "Tricalcium phosphate" is 0.3% of the total volume of feed.
