How to organize a crop rotation in a greenhouse
Rotating in a greenhouse is an appropriate procedure, although not always easy. The limited territory makes many things impossible. By tradition, either two or three permanent beds are built in the greenhouse. In this case, the width of the passage is left in the range from 50 to 75 cm.

It is clear that in this case we mean the creation of favorable conditions for growing crops. Much depends on the nature of the sun's rays, as well as their effect on plants. The morning light spectrum is mostly blue. He, in turn, slows down the growth of even the most hardy varieties. Rising higher above the horizon, the sun begins to emit red photons. Therefore, in the southern regions, vegetables and fruits are sweeter, tastier, juicier and more aromatic.
For those who live in the northern regions, it is recommended to have greenhouses (dimensions - 3X8 meters) with an orientation to the east. Then light-loving varieties are planted from the south, and shade-tolerant ones from the north.
Now the farmer needs to correctly arrange the varieties of crops. Their growth and density of the bush should be taken into account. Here is one of the accommodation options (from north to south):
- cucumbers curling along the trellis, which create an amazing shadow;
- certain varieties of tall tomatoes;
- eggplant;
- pepper.
To get the desired harvest, the greenhouse must be ventilated. For this, two vents must be constantly open. This ventilation will prevent condensation from settling on plant stems or structure walls. Moisture is the root of all evil. In it, malignant microorganisms, spores, and also pathogenic cells arise and multiply.
Crop rotation in the greenhouse
It was noticed how difficult it is to carry out crop rotation in such a tight space. It is best when the gardener uses several greenhouses. Then you can replace or remove as much as possible varieties from each other. The alternation is carried out in the following sequence:
- tomatoes are interchanged with cucumbers, or with melons, which are placed in the central garden;
- some farmers eggplant replace with pepper, but this is no longer a crop rotation, because they are from the same family;
- remove the top layer of the soil and shift it to the other side.
In the second case, active mulch is used, then the absence of this technology does not affect the yield. However, there is a possibility that moles or other pests will start in the greenhouse. They freely crawl into the cells of the protective net (at the base). Removing rodents is problematic. Therefore, you should completely change the location of the structure.
Using the technique of crop rotation in the greenhouse, it is important to make detailed stocks of fertilizers applied and the location of crops on stationary beds.
