Tips for working with an electric chain saw
The chain saw is an indispensable tool for every summer resident. With its help, you can prune and cut trees, as well as construction work. Chainsaws are equipped with petrol or electric motors.

How to use an extension cord comfortably
When working with electric chain saw be sure to use an extension cord. The length of a standard saw wire is 30 cm. If the connection between the plug of the wire and the socket of the extension cord is not secure, the bar may stop. They lead to breaking the chain and, accordingly, to the failure of the tool.
Breaking the chain during operation can also cause injury to the operator. Therefore, many summer residents use homemade devices to carry an extension cord and securely fix the connection.
There is no need for self-made fasteners, since the manufacturers of electric saws provide for an extension cord in the tool design. On every chain saw model, this mount is a hole located in the rear handle of the tool.
In order to fix the extension cord in it, fold its wire in half. Electric saws manufactured in accordance with European safety standards are equipped with special plastic clips. They provide a secure fit for the chain saw plug in the extension socket.
Preparing the chain saw for work
Before working with an electric chain saw, make sure that the tool is set correctly. Need to check:
- oil level in the reservoir;
- chain tension force and direction of its movement;
- the tool sprocket is intact.
The saw should never be started without filling the oil tank, otherwise the chain will quickly become dull and the electric motor will burn out. Also, before work, adjust the tension of the chain. The gap between the bar and the chain must be 2 mm.
Install the chain correctly before starting work. The direction of its movement must match the arrows on the tire. If you are using the power saw for a long time, remove the tool cover and clean the drive sprocket from sawdust.
