Fertilizer Kalimag: application for tomatoes and onions

We have purchased a summer cottage and are planning to grow tomatoes and onions there for sale. But there is one caveat - our soil is heavy. I heard that Kalimag can be brought in. Tell me how to apply Kalimag fertilizer for tomatoes and onions?

Under the Kalimag brand, the fertilizer market presents the drug Kalimagnesia, which is also called double salt or double magnesium sulfate. It is a 3-component mineral supplement that is used to fertilize poor soil in order to improve the quality and quantity of the crop. The drug is especially effective for growing tomatoes and onions, since it is a magnesium source for them.

Composition of the preparation

kalimag

Kalimag is available in the form of fine powder or small granules of pink or gray color. There is also a mixed, gray-pink, granule color.

The main components of the drug are:

  • potassium (about 30%);
  • magnesium (about 10%);
  • sulfur (17%).

As for the presence of chlorine, its amount in Kalimagnesia does not exceed 1%.

The advantage of using Kalimag lies in the complex and simultaneous introduction of some of the most necessary microelements for plant development. When fertilizing the soil with potassium, magnesium and sulfur separately, their uneven distribution in the soil is observed.

Properties of Kalimaga

potassium magnesium

As a result of feeding with the preparation of cultivated plants:

  • increased resistance to diseases;
  • yield increases;
  • the taste of finished products improves;
  • the fruiting period is extended.

With a soil deficiency of potassium, garden crops are more easily affected by pathogenic fungi, they do not tolerate temperature changes well. The lack of magnesium affects the root system, and as a result, the overall development of plants, which is inhibited. Without the required amount of sulfur, plants cannot assimilate nitrogen, gradually become smaller and lose their ability to recover. You can avoid these problems with the help of one drug - Kalimaga.

Fertilizing the soil

drug application

The use of Kalimag fertilizer for tomatoes and onions can double their yield. The main top dressing is carried out by direct application to the soil, the time of which depends on the composition of the soil:

  1. Heavy soil... Fertilizer is scattered over the area where it is planned to plant a tomato or onion, during autumn digging at the rate of about 200 g per 10 sq. m.
  2. Sandy soil... It is introduced during spring digging, the consumption of the drug is halved (no more than 100 g per 10 sq. M.).

When growing tomatoes in greenhouse conditions during the preparation of the greenhouse for planting seedlings per 1 sq. m. 5 g of the drug is introduced.

Liquid plant nutrition

On the basis of Kalimag, a nutrient solution is prepared, which is used for spraying tomatoes on the leaves during the growing season. For this, 20 g of the drug is diluted in a bucket of water.

The same proportion is used for root dressing of tomatoes, while 10 liters of the prepared solution is consumed per 1 sq. m. landing area. In total, a maximum of 3 applications are required:

  • when transplanting seedlings to the garden;
  • at the beginning of flowering;
  • when setting fruit.

For root feeding onions a bucket of water will require 15 g of the drug. Fertilizer is applied in the middle of the growing season.
