Growing pea seedlings

pea seedlings in snails Peas are a legume climbing plant. To grow it, many gardeners use trellises. In order to get the legumes as quickly as possible, you need to grow seedlings... A pea bush grown from seedlings yields a crop already in the third month after transplanting the seedling into open ground.

For growing pea seedlings, well-ripened legume seeds are used. Pea pods with seeds for seedlings are left to ripen on the bush until June. Ripe pods turn yellow, their stalk dries up completely. In order for the peas to fully ripen, the bush must be treated with insecticidal preparations and fungicides.

The most dangerous pest for an annual legume plant is the pea moth; young pea bushes are most often infected with blackleg spores. Garden perlite well detains the spores of this fungal disease, so they need to mulch pea bushes. Subject to all these rules for caring peas, you will grow quality ripe seeds, ready to germinate.

Pea seed germination

In order to obtain seedlings with a strong root system, pea beans are germinated in sandy loam soil. This method of germination is ineffective, since the pea seed stores very little nutrients. Unlike tulip or hyacinth bulbs, the root system of peas does not have enough strength to sink into the soil. With soil germination, a ripe pea seed will take root no earlier than two weeks after planting in a pot, and peas will be able to form a root system that can transfer the transplant into open ground only after three weeks.

With hydroponic germination, peas will develop a strong root system after just two weeks. A month later, after planting in open ground, the pea bush will bloom, and after six weeks it will be possible to harvest.

In order to grow seedlings hydroponically, you will need a large amount of artificial light... Daylight hours of seedlings should be increased to 16-18 hours a day.

A snail is a good choice for germinating pea seeds. A three-layer toilet paper is placed on a cellophane bag. It is moistened with water, and then ripe pea seeds are laid out in a row. Paper and cellophane are rolled into a roll, moistened with water, each "turn of the snail's shell". When the seeds form powerful roots, the snail is unfolded. Then you need to plant pea seedlings in open ground.
