pea grapes Many gardeners, despite the abundant flowering of their grapes, complain about the poor harvest and peas of certain table varieties. Today, in summer cottages, grapes are grown that bloom with flowers only of the female type and varieties with flowers of the male and female type. Bisexual varieties are pollinated without problems, while same-sex varieties definitely need the help of a gardener.

Solution to the problem

On closer inspection of a blooming bunch, you can immediately see where the bisexual flowers are. The pistils and stamens are well developed, the anthers are level and the ovaries are well developed. Kesha grapes has a functional female flower type. On examination, underdeveloped anthers are clearly visible, which indicates the need of the pollinator.

The easiest way to solve the problem is artificial pollination with puffs. They are made from rabbit skins. First, the gardener goes through the bunches of bisexual flowers with a sandpaper, and then along the brushes with unisexual flowers. This option is not very good. The flowering of the grapes is very gentle and crumbles quickly.

There is an easier way to solve the problem. If Kesha grapes grow on the site, next to it you need to plant Kishmish Zaporozhye, which is a wonderful pollinator for the Kesha variety, Talisman. The secret to getting a good result is to match the flowering time of the varieties that need pollination and the pollinators.

When it is not possible to additionally plant Kishmish, you can inoculate a pollinator variety on the pollinated bush. It is enough to cut off one sleeve of the bush and plant Kishmish or another variety with bisexual flowers on it.

The flowering time of the pollinated variety and the pollinator variety must necessarily coincide.

There are other reasons for the peas of table grape varieties:

  1. Thickening of the bush. The solution to the problem is to remove unnecessary shoots.
  2. Hot weather during the flowering grapes. The bushes will have to be sprayed with water for pollination to occur.
  3. Weak bush. It is necessary to fertilize and provide the grapes with watering.

Take your time to get rid of peasable grape varieties. Give the plant a chance to please you with a good harvest by following the full range of measures. To attract bees as pollinators, place baits near the bush. To do this, you need a liter of water, 300 g of sugar, a drop of honey and quite a few grape inflorescences.
