Saturated apple compote for the winter

rich apple compote There are quite a few recipes for canning compotes. Each housewife has her own favorite and familiar way of cooking, the same can be said about fruits. After all, everyone's taste is different: someone cannot live without strawberries, while others are allergic to it.

However, there is a simple fruit that surely grows in every garden - these are apples. Rarely does anyone not like fragrant juicy apples (by the way, they are also available for allergy sufferers if you avoid varieties of red color). It is these fruits that will be discussed, or rather, how to make a rich compote from them for the winter.

Preparation of ingredients

All varieties of apples are suitable for rolling compote. This is not of fundamental importance, because most often they use those fruits that are at hand. However, it must be borne in mind that sour varieties will require a little more sugar and vice versa.

To make the apples look beautiful when rolled, they do not need to be cut. It is enough just to remove the core using a special tool. The result is an unusual apple - seemingly whole, but with a neat, round and through hole.

These compote apples can be used for filling when baking pies.

A feature of the recipe is that the fruit must be filled completely, so the number of apples depends on the volume of the container. Usually three-liter bottles are used, although you can roll up the compote in a 2-liter can. Then you need fewer apples. This also applies to cases when compote is canned from several types of fruits, as well as in the form of assorted fruits and berries.

In order to slightly diversify the taste, you can pour 1 tbsp into the bottle. gooseberry, previously washed and cleaned of tails. This will add extra sweetness to the drink. Although the compote from some apples is also quite tasty. If it was not possible to get the gooseberry, this item can be skipped - this will not affect the harvesting technology in any way.

Seaming process step by step

First of all, you need to prepare the container. Banks must be well washed with soda and rinsed; sterilizing them is not necessary. Now you can start preparing:

  1. Fill the bottle with apples (add gooseberries if desired).
  2. Boil sugar syrup: add 400 g of sugar to 1.6 liters of water.
  3. Pour boiling syrup over apples in a jar.
  4. Sterilize the compote for no more than 15 minutes.
  5. Before rolling, add citric acid under the lid on the tip of a knife.
  6. Leave the compote to cool at room temperature. Do not wrap up!

Thanks to sterilization, the compote can be safely stored for more than one year, even in an apartment.
