Choosing apple varieties for growing in Siberia and the northern regions of Russia

Growing an apple tree in the northern regions of Russia is quite problematic. In order to get juicy and sweet apples in Siberia, you need to pick up a zoned variety.

The varieties popular in the European part of Russia are not suitable for Siberia. For full ripening of Antonovka or Red Melba, for example, a lot of sunlight and heat are required. In regions where frosts are frequent, such apples do not “gain sugar”.

Ural bulk

Apples of the Ural bulk variety weigh about 100 g. The apple skin is yellow, the flesh is creamy white, very juicy. The taste of the pulp is sweet, the skin is sour. Apples are consumed both fresh and used for baking and making desserts.

The advantage of this variety is its long shelf life. In a dark, cool place, apples can lie for up to two months, and in the refrigerator until spring.

Ural pink

Ural pink apples are medium in size. Their mass reaches 150 g. The color of the fruits is green; when fully ripe, they are covered with a red blush. The pulp is loose, coarse-grained. The taste of the pulp is sweet and sour, the skin is dense, richly sour. Apples are consumed fresh, they are also suitable for making jam.

The fruits fully ripen in the second half of August. They are resistant to scab and gray mold. Apples practically do not infect pests.

Souvenir

Souvenir variety - medium ripening. The fruit of the apple tree is medium in size. Their mass is 120 g. The peel of the apple is yellow; when fully ripe, it becomes blush. The pulp is firm, sweet and sour. The fruits are consumed only fresh.

The souvenir is a high-yielding variety that can be stored for up to one month. The apple tree is very hardy.

Success

Apple variety High-yielding success. Fruit weight is 80 g. Apples grow in clusters on the tree. One branch can have up to 20 fruits. The taste of the fruit is sweet and sour, the skin is sour. The color of the fruit is green with a pink blush.

The fruits have a long shelf life. They do not rot for three months.
