Original mint cookies

mint cookies Everyone knows that cookies are usually yellow, in extreme cases - brown if you add cocoa to the dough (decorations made from colored cream are not considered). Today we propose to cook unusual green cookies without any dyes and chemicals. This delicious and aromatic dessert owes its color to the magic herb - mint. In fact, this is an ordinary shortbread delicacy, but thanks to the spicy greens, it turns out to be very interesting, grassy in color both inside and outside, and besides, it has an original taste and smell.

What is needed for the test?

To knead the dough for cookies, you need the following products:

  • mint leaves (30 g);
  • butter (half a packet);
  • a glass of flour;
  • egg;
  • 100 g granulated sugar;
  • half a teaspoon of baking powder.

Cooking sequence

First of all, you need to prepare mint: Rinse freshly harvested shoots and allow to dry. Separate the leaves from the stems - the latter are not needed.

A couple of hours before making the dough, you need to get the butter out of the refrigerator so that it thaws and becomes soft.

Now you can start the test:

  1. Pour baking powder into flour, mix.
  2. In a separate bowl, sprinkle the mint with sugar and beat with an immersion blender until smooth.
  3. Add egg and butter to the mint mass, beat again.
  4. Gradually adding flour, knead the dough with a spatula.

The dough should be very soft, even sticky, but you don't need to add more flour, otherwise the cookies will not be soft and juicy.

To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, they must be moistened in clean water. Using a spoon, take a little dough, form a round cake with your hands and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Flatten each cake with damp hands. You can use a wet fork for this and at the same time make patterns on the cookies - press the fork crosswise to the dough.

Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven and bake at 200 degrees for no more than 15 minutes.

If you overexpose cookies in the oven, they will become hard, but most importantly, they will lose their unusual color and turn yellow.

At the exit from the taken amount of ingredients, an average of 19 fairly large cookies with a heady mint smell are obtained.
