Planning a summer cottage: a cheat sheet for a beginner

suburban planning The planning of a summer cottage is the first step in creating a comfortable, comfortable place to live or spend time. When purchasing a plot for the construction of a summer house, everyone wants to do everything right, so you need to follow a few generally accepted rules.

Site zoning

suburban area zoning

First of all, the suburban area is divided into three main zones and denotes this in the plan:

  • for construction - 10% of the total area;
  • for a garden, vegetable garden - 50%, for berry crops - 20%;
  • resting place - 20%.

When these three zones are selected, you can proceed to planning the remaining territory, creating masterpieces of landscape design on it or using it for other, individual purposes. The percentage can change significantly if areas such as a vegetable garden are missing.

The buildings

When preparing a construction plan for buildings, the site owner must pay attention to several rules:

  1. From buildings to the border of the site, the distance is at least 3 m.
  2. It is better to build a house on the north side of the site so that it does not obscure the planting.
  3. Outbuildings are placed in the far corner of the site so that they are less visible to guests and visitors to the yard. As a last resort, if it is not possible to build in the depths of the site, then you can use the ideas of landscape design, hiding defects and decorating with live plants.

There is no need to plant tall shrubs, trees, vines around the country house, thereby making it difficult for sunlight to enter the rooms. Better to break flower beds that bloom continuously, one plant is replaced by another.

Garden Garden

To form a garden and a vegetable garden, they choose the sunny side of the summer cottage, mainly the southern part. The best option for a vegetable garden, a plot with the presence of sunlight for at least 6 hours, during this time the plants will have time to be saturated with useful substances and will bring a large harvest. Sun-loving crops are planted here: peppers, tomatoes, strawberries... Fruit trees and shrubs need a well-lit side.

When planting perennial fruit trees and shrubs, there is no need to thicken the planting. It is necessary to leave sufficient distance between them for the growth of the root system and crown. This will allow the plants to receive enough nutrients from the soil for a long time.

While planting young trees, potatoes, cabbage, cucumbers are planted between them.

Resting-place

Depending on the preferences of the owner, gazebos, a pond, a playground, a barbecue or sports ground, a swimming pool can get into the recreation area. Usually this part of the site is shaded with beautiful arches made of climbing plants, shrubs in the form of a hedge.
