Saving roses from powdery mildew

This year, my queens of the flower garden have suffered a lot from powdery mildew, especially a new bush - it could not even bloom, the bud has dried up. Tell me what control measures can be applied to get rid of powdery mildew on roses? I don't want to lose the rose garden, because I have it big enough.

At the initial stage of the appearance of white bloom on roses, the bushes can be sprayed with one of the solutions of your choice:

  • soda and soap solution (50 g of soda and the same amount of soap per bucket of water);
  • garlic infusion (boil 80 g of chopped cloves in 10 liters of water);
  • mustard infusion (2-3 tablespoons of powder per 10 liters of warm water);
  • solution based on serum and iodine (1 liter and 10 drops, respectively, in a bucket of water).

It is necessary to spray roses with a fresh solution at least twice in the evening. Cut and burn infected leaves and flowers.

If the start time diseases many bushes are missed or sick, it is better to take special preparations. Such fungicides cope well with powdery mildew, such as:

  3. Fundazol.
  4. Previkur.
  5. Fitosporin -M.

When treating roses with fungicides, you should maintain an interval of 2 weeks and alternate the means so as not to become addictive.

Disease prevention

To prevent the occurrence and development of a dangerous fungus, it is necessary to regularly carry out preventive measures:

  • weed the flowerbed, avoiding the multiplication of weeds;
  • when applying fertilizers, give preference to organic matter and potassium-phosphorus preparations, avoiding an excess of nitrogen;
  • in spring and autumn, treat roses with copper sulfate with the addition of soap;
  • in the fall, remove all dry foliage under the bush and dig up the soil.

In addition, it is important even at the stage of planting seedlings to choose a well-lit and wind-free place for them, and when breaking down rosary leave sufficient distance between the bushes.
