Fertilization for spring planting roses

This year, my dream of having my own rose garden almost came true - we bought a summer cottage, where I had already booked a place for roses. Even the seedlings are waiting for the rains to end and it will be possible to start planting them. I would like to do everything right, but I have no experience in growing roses yet. Tell me how to fertilize roses during spring planting? Is it possible to use mineral preparations or is it better to add organic matter?

planting roses As soon as the spring sun warms up the soil a little, the air temperature will become stable and return frosts will go away, it is time to plant roses. All lovers of a proud beauty have long known that she requires a lot of attention. The key to the lush flowering of a rose is a nutritious and loose soil, and this can only be achieved by regular feeding. Even the most fertile soil is depleted over time and is no longer able to provide plants with the necessary substances. What can we say about young seedlings, which are especially in need of nutrition. In addition, having provided roses with a vitamin complex even during planting, you do not have to worry about additional fertilizing until next season.

How to properly fertilize roses for spring planting

fertilization

Before planting rose seedling, the soil must be prepared and "filled" with nutrients. Gardeners differ on how to do this. Some believe that it will be right to dig up and fertilize the entire area intended for the rose garden. Others recommend feeding directly into the hole, then mixing it with the soil. You can use any option, however, if the planting of a large rose garden is not planned, it is more convenient for several bushes to put fertilizers directly into the planting pit.

What fertilizers are best used?

fertilizers

Young rose seedlings need strength to grow and form new shoots, which means they need nitrogen. It is found in large quantities in organic fertilizers, which must be applied during planting.

Since roses are very fond of slightly acidic soils, it is recommended to add wood ash when planting. It will also protect plantings from fungal diseases.

The formation of rose buds is impossible without phosphorus, which, in turn, accelerates the overall development of plants. This and many other trace elements are contained in mineral fertilizers, which are also indispensable for growing roses.

The most optimal option for fertilizing roses is to combine organic matter and mineral preparations.

So, when planting one bush in the soil, you must add:

  • 1.5 kg of humus;
  • 1 tbsp. l. superphosphate;
  • 30 g of wood ash.

Use fresh manure categorically impossible - he will burn the young roots and destroy the seedling.

Planted roses are a must mulch sawdust or fallen leaves of fruit trees. This will help to retain moisture and keep weeds out of the rose garden. More about use of urea as fertilizer - read on our website!
