Building a greenhouse for plants from old window frames
In suburban areas of a small area, you can equip a wooden greenhouse instead of a greenhouse. Greenhouse maintenance is less time consuming than greenhouse maintenance. In a greenhouse, seed germination increases, so it is often used for growing seedlings.
Wooden window frames and a few old planks are suitable for building a greenhouse. Window frames must be disassembled into two parts: vents and window openings. A door is made from the window opening, screwing it into a board 20 mm thick. The doorway is dug into the ground.
From the doorway, the construction of the greenhouse frame begins. Bricks are dug into the ground around the perimeter of the building so that the height of the finished greenhouse is 1.8 m, and you can freely enter inside.

Wooden boards with borders are buried in the ground throughout the entire area of the greenhouse. The place for the beds is filled with humus or a fertile soil mixture. Thus, in the greenhouse, two warm beds are made, in which plants will develop faster.
Greenhouse arrangement
In order to make the walls of the greenhouse, it is necessary to install several window frames. Window vents are screwed to the frames to make ventilation.
When the walls of the greenhouse are ready, it is necessary to strengthen the foundation with metal corners. They are screwed to the sides of the garden bed with hardware. During the strengthening of the greenhouse, the gaps between the window openings are eliminated. Two frames are fastened together with hardware.
This results in a sturdy, draft-proof construction. In order to cover the greenhouse with white covering material, it is necessary to make the roof of the building.
Greenhouse roof
To make a greenhouse roof, follow these steps:
- Disassemble the two window frames. Unscrew the fastening screws perforator, detach the frame parts.
- Fasten the frame parts with wood glue, overlapping them, on top of each other. There should be two central roof beams
- Install the joists to the window frames. Level them up with a level. Secure them with four hardware.
After the frame of the greenhouse is ready, it is covered with a covering material. Agrofibre or film is fixed on the roof and body of the greenhouse with screws.
