The high-yielding tomato Verlioka Plus wins the hearts of farmers
Many farmers are engaged in growing tomatoes in greenhouse conditions. Most of them choose the large-fruited tomato Verlioka Plus F1 for this. The hybrid is bred by breeders from the main variety. A characteristic difference of the "Plus" version is the larger dimensions of the fruit. Before you learn the intricacies of growing a vegetable crop, you need to get to know it better.
Verlioka Plus tomato in person
Fruits of an early maturing hybrid of a determinant type:
- deep red hue;
- round shape;
- with slight ribbing in the area of the stalk;
- weighing 120-140 g;
- on the fault, they form a sugary texture;
- with dense pulp of a pinkish undertone;
- in section have 4-5 seed chambers.
The skin of the tomato is thin and not tough. However, due to its high density, it does not allow the fruit to crack when ripe.

Growing technology
Like all other members of the Solanaceae family, the Verlioka Plus tomato is grown by the seedling method. In the middle lane, seeds are sown in late March or early April. Commonly used peat tablets... Containers with moist and air-permeable soil mixture are also used. The substrate is bought in the store or prepared independently.
In equal shares, the following is applied to the greenhouse bed:
- peat;
- humus;
- sod land.
Planting material is purchased in the store or in the market, since it is a hybrid variety. Your own seeds will not inflate the expected yield.
It is recommended to disinfect the soil taken from the garden with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. The prepared soil is watered abundantly with water.
As soon as moisture is absorbed, seeds are sown in compliance with this scheme:
- embedment depth 1 cm;
- row spacing - 3 cm;
- the distance between the seeds is up to 1-2 mm.
After that, the earth is once again moistened with settled water using a spray bottle. The container is covered with a film, lid or glass. The container is left in a warm place (23-25˚C) with open access to the sun. The duration of daylight hours in this case should be 12-15 hours. If necessary, phytolamps are installed. The mini-greenhouse is ventilated daily (morning and evening for 20-30 minutes). When seedlings appear, the shelter is removed, and the temperature drops to 17-18˚С.
The dive is carried out in the phase of the first true leaf. This procedure is used to obtain strong and healthy seedlings.
Working with seedlings
As already noted, a greenhouse or greenhouse would be an ideal place for a vegetable crop. For transplanting seedlings, the beginning or middle of May is suitable. By that time, the seedlings are 40 days old. Some agronomists practice planting seedlings at the end of April, if the conditions are right for this.
Still, before this (1-2 weeks), the seedlings are hardened:
- for a couple of days the room is simply ventilated;
- then the containers are taken out to the balcony / street for only 1-2 hours;
- the duration of subsequent "walks" is doubled;
- by the end of the period, the seedlings should be in the fresh air for a whole day.
Then a nutritious and light soil mixture is prepared. All work is carried out in a greenhouse or greenhouse. During the digging process, it is added to ordinary soil:
- humus or compost;
- mineral fertilizers (Nitroammofosk);
- peat (non-acidic);
- sand.
Tomato Verlioka Plus F1 belongs to hardy varieties. Still, the optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 26-29˚С. It is also recommended to treat them with special solutions before sowing.
Each square meter accounts for up to 5 kg of each of the listed components (for heavy soil types, this figure is 10 kg / m²). After such a thorough preparation, the seedlings are planted according to the 40 × 50 cm scheme, as indicated on the package. Before the transshipment of the earthen clod into the hole, if no fertilizers were applied, superphosphate (1 tsp), humus and wood ash are added. Then the hole is watered abundantly with water. As soon as the moisture is absorbed, planting is performed. The seedling is deepened to the first true leaves, and the soil around the stem is compacted tightly.
In greenhouses, where nightshades were previously grown, farmers are advised to remove the top layer of the soil substrate (10-15 cm). This procedure will help protect the culture from common pathogens of viral infections.
Further care and shaping
Watering the seedlings is done every 5-7 days, depending on the drying of the topsoil. The water should be warm and settled. The event is usually scheduled in the morning or evening. For this, a watering can is used to create the effect of rain. Hilling bushes is a prerequisite for growing tomatoes. Loosening of the soil is carried out regularly. In some cases, mulching of the site is used to protect the planting from drought and weeds. Nevertheless, the question of how to form a Verliok tomato deserves special attention.
Gardeners practice the use of 2 technologies:
- In one stem (by transferring the growth point to the lateral shoot). After 3-4 brushes, a replacement stepson is left, as well as several leaves that form a kind of crown of the bush.
- 2-3 stems. To do this, you need to leave 1-2 lower shoots, which should develop parallel to the main trunk.
Due to the fact that the hybrid belongs to the medium-sized varieties, the culture needs a garter. Very often, trellises or special pegs are installed in the greenhouse to fix the plant. Preventive inspection of the bushes is periodically performed. Extra stepsons, as well as foliage, are removed.
Despite the high yield and endurance of Verlioka Plus tomatoes, the vegetable crop requires additional feeding.During the summer, mineral and complex fertilizers are applied with the addition of organic matter.
Observing the above growing rules, gardeners will be able to get fresh and large fruits from July to September. Not every farmer can boast of such luxury.
